#4: A Hobby to Call my Own

A journey with a thousand options - so let's just start exploring.

This website was created primarily from my desires to grow as an artist, to give myself a platform to treat as my own creative outlet, and to help me tap into the overflowing inspiration that I’ve been experiencing.

This creative outlet allows me to finally do something with my work - both my photography and my writing. Even if I’m talking into the void, I’m grateful to harness this creative flow while I have it available. <3

I come from a family of sentimental fools that cling onto old keepsakes for 20+ years because you and your child whittled and crafted the project. So it’s only natural that I’ve kept photos from 8+ years ago and messed around with some in photoshop. I’ve taken a lot more photos than anyone will ever see, but the ones that I do share have inspired me enough to hone their appearance, and in the future, I’ll be able to mold them into something unimaginable~

I’m so excited to learn more photoshop techniques and experiment with the program - a friend of mine once asked me to experiment with their photo, so I think I know the perfect test photo to start with~

In truth, I’ve started looking at this like a garden, where I can plant and harvest the seeds of light that I’ve long considered planting, and it’s about time I finally do it. I’ll water these ideas everyday with curiosity and love, and I’ll keep them under a beautiful light of positive energy, for them to grow from seedlings to budding ideas.

Titled “Heiwa” (2023), which means ‘Peace’ in Japanese.

This photo was freehanded at the Rirukō-in, where I unknowingly created my newest pride and joy as an artist and photographer; moments like these are part of what makes my hobby a source of joy and wonder in my life.

I’m taking this moment right now, in which I’m soaking up the feeling of finishing the setup of my portfolio website.

This is a pretty major project that I just invested my time and energy into, and I’m so proud of it. This entire website is a culmination of my hobby and passion for photography, as well as the stories I want to share alongside them.
